Ive seen many homemade roof racks on here and personaly they look awsome, but you also cant beat the price considering they are like 300 bucks out of a Quadratrec mag. And its a really fun, cheap project.

So i decided to build one of my own:
3/4 EMT, 5/16 x 1 1/2 bolts and 5/16 x 2 inch bolts. with nylock nuts and 5/16 washers.

the side tubes are 3ft 6"(long) on bottom and 3ft 2"(long) on top.,
the end are 2ft 6 (width)(all 4) 5/16 holes.my side supports are 6 inches tall
The bottom parts (floor) are 3' 10"
I wanted to go cheap with my corners so i just bought the 1 piece 90sdrilled 5/16 holes 3/4 from the end.

I thought it looked pretty good i painted it black, it was real easy to put toghether.
im still workin on mounts. it will sit on top of the existing rack but i dont want to drill into it. Ill have pics of that soon.

bolt together kits available soon!!!!!!! pm if interested.

Thats one of the best looking no weld racks I have seen. Looks very sturdy. Slap a coat of black on there and call it done. Makes me wanna go out and buy some tubing I like that you used the corner junctions instead of bending. Major time saver.

THANKS
hey thanks alot for all of the feed back guys, as for prices:
somewhere around 40ft of EMT about $15
corners (90s) about $25
all the fasteners (nuts, bolt, washers) about $15-$20

This thing was REALY easy to put together, Iwas thinking about selling bolt together kits of this thing.
the dimentions on this one are 2'10" x 3'10" (The 90s wernt as long as i tought) LOL thats why the lengths are a little odd.
but it fits a 31" BEAUTIFULY.

BUT the great thing about this is you can take it apart and change the size rather easily.

wieght.....um, not sure exactly. its real easy pick up and put ontop of the jeep.....ill get an exact weight tonight lol.
