Why even have a skid on your xj if you dont wheel it? That would get destroyed so quick on the trail. but hey, perfect for a mall crawler.
BTW our 4 wheeling club requires the use of CB's for communication, Snorkels are also very helpful when crossing s creek or large mud hole. So no they are not stupid, they just have no use on a mall crawler.

I'm not in your little club so, what does that matter to me. I'm rarely in water past my rockers so I have no use for a snorkel. Plus, I just don't like how they look. Mall Crawler....whatever.

Question.
The factory plate has a flange and piece of angle iron welded on the back edge for strength.
Looks like you cut the flange completely off and interrupted the angle iron in several places.
Is that the case ?
I cannot imagine it will take a good hit from a boulder well !
I have smashed mine real hard on several boulders.
You should try Rocksand Valley's up in central MI, lots of boulders.
Cool look, questionable strength for hard core wheeling.
Keep up the good work.

I don't understand why everyone is rippin on it, I dont even have a front skid. This thing has to be better than nothing, maybe the guy just likes to fab metal on his spare time, I know I do. If its not your style thats cool, just keep quiet

I wanna get up to Rocksand, just haven't had time. I've had it at The Mounds,Bull Gap and a ton of cool gravel pits/trails around Oscoda. Also, I live on 10 acres. I had a pretty legit motocross track back there growing up. Its now my personal after work backyard offroad park. It's nothing too crazy but its fun for blowing off steam after a long day.

And yeah, I do metal sculpture in my spare time. I don't claim to be some off road fab wizard, I just do it for fun. I dig it, it serves its purpose. That's all that matters to me.

going on... little bit of car art to show who you are, rock on bro
