Default lower control arm mounts

i will be welding my new 1/4 inch thick lower control arm mounts on and was wondering if anyone knew the thickness if the dana 30 front axel tubes thanks

dana 30 axle tubes are 1/4" or 0.250" thick and 2.5" tubes

why 1/4" I am all for over kill (3/8" bumper)

but i welded 3/16" gussets to mine and they take rock abuse all the time....







after 3 years. both sides look like this:

hell yeah im glad it will make the welding that much easyer thats odd jeep makes them so small from the factory and il be doing that gusset for stiffening my self thats a good idea ill post pics as i do it

mig. btw if you weld on the center pumpkin pre heat it to make the welds penetrate.

ignore the splatter I was still learning to weld there...

Yeah that's why I'm welding the new 1/4 mounts on cause the pos stock weld is cracking and its kinda bent up
