well i got the lowers in.. not finished but in..

used some of the 1.75" .120 wall for bushing ends (as that's what i order bushings to fit in):

and again got going and forgot to take pics but here is the 2x2 3/16" wall square all welded up with the bushings in....

frame brackets not sure the gauge but it's beefy and i had it:

and here's why we did it...4-5in lift stock ca's:

i installed the front half of the arm ratchet strapped the axle to my bumper to pull the axle into place and tacked my the brackets to my crossmember:

here it is just tacked together gonna pull it down weld it up and get going on the uppers tomorrow:

Looks strong, however without something OTHER than rubber bushings at the crossmember end the arms are going to bind and limit your flex severely.

that and I probably woulda used some 1.875" .188 wall or 2" .250 wall tube for the bushings.

not going for maximum flex..i have been driving and wheeling on stock control arms i had to do something.. this is a daily driver 70% of the time on the road 20% light wheeling 10% pushing it..i'm gonna finish off the lowers tomorrow so i can drive it and start on the uppers i'll have flex pics tomorrow

If you have heims on both ends...yeah they SUCK on the street but the general usage is rubber bushings at one end and heims/JJs on the other and most people have zero complaints.

The advised way is rubber bushings on the axle ends and then some nice beefy joints for the body end. I say beefy because if you do the typical and simple y-link long arm setup, those TWO joints basically hold the ENTIRE front suspension in place. Definitely not a place to cheap out and save a few bucks.

Ever heard the saying if your going to do it, do it right the first time?

It seems a few things could be improved on your setup. Just because your not going for maximum flex, why not build the arms for it anyways? Or just because you dont run rocks, why not build them strong just in case (like you decided to)
I agree on the belly as well. Seems a little low.

Anyways, good work so far. Look forward to seeing the creation finished.
