So has anyone ever made a home made sound bar for their xj? I am in the process of making one for some six by nines but it still a work in progress...ive just got the resin on the fleece right now. I still dont have any fiberglass on it. The first too its upside down and the last one is how it should hang but in the jeep....

Thanks guys. i just hope it doesnt hang too low. I think it should only hang down about 2 inches from the top of the glass in the rear. Im going to either wrap it with mossyoak like my headliner or do it up with some bedliner like the rest of the interior plastic...

How do you plan to attatch it to the roof (in the center) or are you going to let it hang?
Reason I ask is with it being fiberglass, it will likely crack if you let it hang, especially if you wheel.
But other than that, it looks great!

It will hang just rear of the seat belts and it will hang similar to the stock ones. If you look at the first couple of pics you may be able to see the metal tabs that stick out from the end. They are screwed into the wood frame and will sit on top of the metal trim at the top of the jeep. the tabs should go behind the trim to keep it from falling.

Ill get some pics of the inside for you guys...
Oh and a little advice, dont use fiberglass in your basement. It tends to make the house stink...

I just took some cardboard out and cut it too fit the contour of the headliner. Then transfered it to some 1x4s. Then you figure out how wide you want it and start building off the main frame.
