thanks man..there just storage racks they cut down shorter and i told my boss i wanted the tops of them cuz he didnt want them. i still havnt figured out how to mount it and im gonna add a lite bar in the front i think

this is what they looked like then i welded three together added the poles set the height cut them down and then welded a top bar to it

that's pretty good use of scrap, man... how heavy is it though?

Would anybody mind showing a pic of how they made there Hi-lift mounting bracket? Some close up pics, how you like it and if you could change something about it..?

if you still have your factory cross rails, you could get some radiator hose clamps (worm gear type) and do it that way... not the strongest way to go, but as long as you're not trying to hang the jeep from it, it should be okay.

i dont have the rails that go across the roof but i do have the ones that go from the front to back i might be able slip those clamps under them idk ill try tomorrow

Yeah, you could drill holes in the root rails that are just big enough to fit the clamps...

i could try that but ive got an 89 so its got the thin metal ones on there. i was gonna try to slide the clamps underneath it idk tho. i was also thinkin about just drillin holes in the roof and use u bolts some washers and silicone cuz i dont have a headliner anyway haha

Not sure I'd go through the roof supporting that much weight... I mean, I know the roof rails do it, but their weight is distributed across the length of the roof... Your rails, even though thin, can hold quit a bit of weight, my 92 hauled about 600 lbs on top of the factory cross rails when I first got it.
