Thank you Juan. Lol. I have been welding for thirteen years, and I currently work at a machine shop doing welding work. It helped with the practice

just a quick question, my homebrew bumper is under way, and my question is, with the extended unibody tie ins, is it a must for the aftermarket steering box spacer or can i use my old one?

Technically, you can, but it is not recommended. The OEM spacer is made out of aluminum, and chances when you remove the steering box bolts, the spacer will fall apart, (mine did). And even if yours still is intact, it won't be too strong when you put it back on and retighten the bolts. Because the steering spacer is essentially a part of frame tie-in system. When you decide to do a recovery on your jeep that pulls you to the side, the exertion of the motion can cause all kinds of stuff to the frame, with the aluminum spacer still being there, I can only imagine what could happen. Hey. It's better to overkill it, than be sorry, right?

What if it break while on the road and you would have to take off the bumper, the tie in brackets, steering box again just to install the spacer in. In my opinion, it's better to do everything done while it is accessible.

If you decide to go down on using the old spacer route, it's up to you, after all it's your jeep and you get to decide what goes and what don't go on the jeep

I have received a lot of compliments on the bumper and someone asked me to write down measurements, so I thought I ll also share it with y'all here.

This is just basic measurements for the rough idea. Not all xj's are the same so double check wi your mounting points beforehand. And adjust accordingly

Can't believe I haven't seen the build for this before. Very nice.
