I know they make new inlet pipes for just under 8 bucks but its not worth all the work to install it when you can simply make and install a brass one in minutes

Right now the brackets and metal in my rear bumper are rusted out so since I got my new welder I am planning to re-build a new bumper with swing out tire and jerry can holder. I am still in the plannins stage and debating a couple of plans. I am leaning to retaining the old plastic bumper in the planning as for one I hate throwing out something and since it is not cracked or anything I am thinking of just welding up the bracket on some new tubing and welding the swing out then bolting on the plastic bumper over this to retain a stock look and also improving the monut. also saving a little not having to buy extra flat plate. I also am a little reserved after looking at othe homemade bumpers in that I keep thinking that with a rear end collision that the metal bumpers would be pushed into the rear tires. where as I would not worry about this with the old plastic bumper. I also do not have the storage for the old bumper and am to lazy to try to sell it. Would like some thought in this from others
