about two months ago i cut in a hood vent on the drivers side. i had been real careful about covering it when it would rain. well, last week it rained for 5 days straight and on about the fourth day i realized i hadn't covered the vent. a few days later i get in the jeep for a run to get groceries. durn thing started shifting goofy and then stuck in first gear. i googled the issue and seems the tps don't like water. so i made this.
btw, new tps & tranny shifting like new.
made from a paper thin sheet of aluminum. drill bit and scissors. rtv between the layers.

yea, i was kinda wondering of it should go in advanced tech or fab. i put it here cuz..... i fabbed it.
more notes on fab:
lay out your oily intake hose on the sheet. drill the holes out. now you have a nice oil ring showing where the inside of the tube is. cut that out. trim out all the excess so it won't interfere with throttle linkage, etc. test fit. trim other areas that interfere with stuff. put rtv on surfaces and bolt it back up. crack open your favorite perrier and admire your handy work.

no no your fine, you FABRICATED it and it's even made out of metal so you get bonus points from the fab *****. Nice job by the way and I'll give you a little tip too. get yourself a big tube od dielectric grease and then take apart each elec connector under hood and squeeze some in between and then put them back together. keeps water out and prevents corroison. Use it on all the boots on the dist cap too. Great stuff!

so it's the connector that doesn't like water? i thought it was the actual sensor body that didn't like to get wet. yesterday i squirted dielectric grease in every connection under the hood. i got an extra 10hp!
