Default Home Made Roof Rack from South America - Santiago de Chile.

Hello Friends, long ago I read your forum and this is my first topic, I'm from Santiago de Chile and I have a 1989 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x4 Automatic 4.0L, then I'll post more specifics, the first thing I want to show is that the Roof Rack manufactures this summer to my jeep, the steel tube manufactured with 1 "x 1.5 mm thick and measures are 71" long x 47 "wide almost as ARB but immensely cheaper, I tell them 3 months ago I learned to weld so I have good technique but was very firm and withstood over 1800 miles on our vacation this summer, said no more and I leave the photos, any enchanted cunsulta the answer.

Congratulations for your forum is very good and you learn a lot about Cherokee `s, SUV created by far the best in history! ....... excites me ......

regards.

Claudio Villegas

nice looking rack... on jeep. lol.

great job, looks very strong. now you just need to fabricate much stronger rain gutter mounts.

so sad to see such a well made rack suffer with such poor mounts.

good job, keep up the good work. post more pictures of your fabrications.

Take the time and make some stronger mounts, they will be worth the work. Looks very nice!

saludos.

Thanks for your comments, I will follow your council on the brackets, in spite of their resistance checked already this summer traveling more than 300 miles of roads in poor soil and stones and not let go anything, keep you informed about changes.

greetings.

Default NICE RACK !!!

Hola - como estas !!!

How did you do the corner bends ??? I like that and the angle of the
front --- nice work.

As a couple guys brought up -- check into a stronger mounting bracket
and it would be PERFECTO !!!
How long did it take to build ?

take care, Randy from So. California

corners to turn the send a specialist workshop, bent at 90 degrees, is a single line of 1 "pipe bent into 4 parts.

takes 2 weekends in manufacturing it, Monday to Friday and I have only work on Saturdays and Sundays off.

if not change the mounting brackets in the photos look weak but live their resistance is appreciated, I'll see how they behave in the course of the year, as the saying "what does not fix broken ..... improves "

greetings.
