its pretty simple if you get a hack&tap. but if you get a legit SYE(What I'm gonna get) it involves taking the transfer case apart. Its not too big a deal if you have a FSM for the case....and I happen to have one for the NP231

Dont let it scare you. Its a lot easier than you'd think. Those t-cases are so simple its rediculous. Took me and a buddy about 40 mins to install a AdvanceAdapters SYE and that was our first one. The ones I do by myself now take about 30 minutes start to finish (not including time taken to drop the case from the jeep of course)

The case is easy to remove. Only weighs about 65# so you won't need a tranny jack. Silicone works for gaskets. Just get your parts, remove the case, disassemble from the rear, put your parts in and put it back together. Advance Adapters has a very good package deal on top of the line parts and you can't beat the customer service with them.

Just keep in mind if you want to save money, you can get a front driveshaft from a junkyard. Theyre nearly identical to the $400+ Tom Woods shafts everybody sells with their kits. Theyre within half an inch of eachother in length.
