i had that same problem with the torx bit haha...but i torched the bottom hinge and ground it down..all was left was the pin and all my doors just pull off..very easy to do rather then mess with those annoying bolts..just my advice

Some 97s have the 96 hinges if they were built early in or before 97. A little more than half way through, they changes up the hinges to what most 97 - 01s have.

not to sound picky but some picks of the hinges themselves would be fun to see

so a little info on my jeep its a 93 cherokee sport-- i got it with no doors, so i am also in the process of locating them at a pick a part. i dont really mind not having the doors but from what i read its not exactly legal to be doorless in this model of jeep. im located in texas and i believe there is a one mirror rule-- anyways this is my problem it looks all ripped up where the doors were i have a welder that can work on it also-- im just not so knowledgeable about much of any of this stuff so if you let me know ill pass it on -- thanks so much- hope the pics come out

you have some major work ahead of you. all the hinges are torn away from the body, and the upper driver side is totally gone.

ouch x2 on having major work ahead of you. when you get the doors from the junk yard see if they can cut off the whole hinge assembly from the unibody for you too

Thanks for making this thread. Ive been want to take my doors on and off whenever I want and didn't kno exactly how to do it. Now I'll be doing this soon as it warms up around here. And I'll be making half doors. So i can go from the full doors to half whenever I want.
