The HF 90 amp has worked fine for me. I use Lincoln .35 wire and keep extra tips around. I've welded up to 1/4" with no problems. My buddy gave me crap about it so we set up 6 welds each. Me with my HF and him with his Lincoln mig. After testing in a vice and a 15lb sledge, MINE ONE. hahaha. If I burn it up I will take it back and get a NEW one. Thats why they sell the 3 year extended warranty. Oh, and if you watch the 4Wheel mags you can find a coupon for $89. Thats a lot better than $650 for the 110 Lincoln.
$89 plus an extra 20% off is a huge savings over a $650 110 Lincoln.
But you won't get certain features. For example the HF welder always has a live tip.

I think the recurring themes in this thread and most places are this: Buy a quality machine, and buy a machine that will exceed the capacity you intend to use.
For anyone looking to do just body/light sheet metal work. a 110-140amp machine is more than capable. But if you want to build bumpers, armor or get into heavier stuff(3/16" and above) Get a Machine in the 180-250amp range.
Go red white or blue(Lincoln, Hobart, Miller) Parts are easy to come by, any respectable shop knows these machines and they're built to last.

I don't know yet about welders. But, I have been seeing one at Harbor Freight runs off 110 and is under a $100. Been thinking that I should pick one of those up and see if they come with comic book instructions on how to weld. LOL
If anyone knows these are junk or not please send me a knock in the head. Thanks

I conceed, you have good experiences with equipment at great pricing. One of the comments is right on the money, it's not the equipment as much as the one behind the torch. Something to be said for coupons/discounts and good warranty coverage if there is equipment failure. If it fits your budget then think about your decision, then dive in. Let's face it you've already got the real expense merry go round, you've got the jeep.
