Default gas and brake pedal

This might seems like a stupid mod, but I can't find any better way to fix my problem... basically, my wife is a shorty and she have a hard time reaching the gas pedal. When the seat push all the way forward she is too close to the steering wheel. I tried to shorten the gas pedal cable but the pedal come up as an arc, her feet can't touch the ground when pressing the pedal.

So I decided to modify the gas/brake pedal so she have a safer driving position.

before:

cut the pedal:

stick weld with a piece of 1 inch extension metal

grind it to make it smooth

spray can it

finish product

The only draw back is when I have the back seat down, I am a little cramped. But I like the way I am further from the steering wheel.

That is a pretty good idea. But since you drive it I would have just made some blocks that go on top of the pedals. I do know that the do make them. One of my friends bought some for his truck so his wife could reach the pedals.
Like I said it is a good mod none the less.

Thanks for all the positive comments!

my wife is 5 feet. She can reach the pedal if the seat goes way forward. It just don't look safe when her face is so close to the steering wheel. She is currently pagent. Eventually her belly will be stucking out and touching steering wheel...

block would work, but I like the "original" look. And I love it when oneday she take the jeep out for a drive and feel its "different" but don't know what had been change Not that she is supposed to drive at that stage but there is those doc appt that I can't go with her.
