I'd say with 4 bolts per side you're probably fine. Looks pretty sturdy to me. I thought about doing something like this for a quick easy front recovery but I made a D-ring mount instead. It just sticks through a hole I cut in the front bumper.

Original post looks fine to me. I have a class III front hitch, that uses three bolts per side. The sway bar mount bolts and the two that are forward of the sway bar.

The hitch is supposed to be fine to winch with just by itself.

I do plan on making my own bumper at some point and tying it in to the hitch, but I'm not afraid to winch with just the hitch on those six bolts.

People say the sway bar mounts arent strong. If you take tow hooks from a 90'd body style chevy theyll bolt right into place. And ive broken tow hooks Jerking on em and have yet to pull a nut thru the rail. So font let people tell you what you did isn strong enough.

You mean the tow hook itself broke? Seems to me that on any appreciable pull you really will rip the bolts out of the frame, assuming something else doesnt break first. Maybe you just dont get stuck that bad.
