Default front fender armor and tube flares

well i finaly started on my front fenders that ive been planning on doin for a while. My plan is to take sheet metal and plate the fenders i think what im using is around a 1/16 thick im realy not sure but its perrty stout and then im gona come off that with 1 5/8 tubing for flares ill post some pics of my progress so far

thats the passanger side i should have it mounted and start on the flare this weekend

i also have a question for anyone that has done this befor im thinkin about mounting these to the fenders with 1/4 in rivets the tube part will be tied into the inner fender so it will be stiff do yall think rivets would be a good idea for the sheet metal it will be hurculined over op of so u wont be able to realy see them

i got the gun for it i was just wounderin if it was a good idea to use rivets i just dont wanna weld to the fenders cus its perrty thin and im not the greatest welder on thin stuff

It is not a bad idea, but I would use allen head bolts with self locking nuts on the other side if you can get to it. If not, use the rivets.

Let me ask what the benefits are to this? I get the tube flares, but why sheet the fender? In an unpacked it will only fold the upper factory fender...

dont rivet them in.. they wont hold. i tried it.. Bolt them in.

im bracing the fender with tubing ran from the inner fender and the main reson is to make my fenders look a little starighter in the front ive mangled them up perrty good i had the metal layin around and was bored and figured id see how it would turn out
