So I'm looking at putting 35's on my ride after installing a 6.5" long arm and I'm pretty sure I have to trim some fenders. Anyone have this set up and have pics of the trim process? I'm wondering how much I have to trim off...

None if you don't want to. I beleive 35's will fit with 5.5" so with the 6.5" you should be good. You can trim the rears like a half inch but the front fenders are limitless.

I guess I'll wait until it's all installed. I love the look of a gap between the fenders and tires. I also want some room for flex. I'm not going too wide since I'm putting them on factory wheels so I don't think I'll have too many problems.

this is my old XJ its not 35s (they are 33s) and its not the same amount of lift (its only 3 inch) but I did cut and fold the front and rear fenders. I tried to find the best pics that showed the fenders.

and here are some with 31s

heres mine. 6.5 inch lift and 35's. had to rim the bumper to turn and to have any flex i had to trim the fenders. even with them trimmed this much they hit at full flex.

The only thing I wish I had done before I cut and folded the rear was. To sand the existing paint on the lip off. The paint will chip and crack making more work in the end. Other than that its pretty easy. I currently run 33s with a 4.5 but have plenty of room for the new 34s at full stuff.

im running 35s on my xj with a 5.5 re long arm lift. i would imagine you would still have ribbing issues even with a 6, i would cut what you feel is necessary then test it out and if you still need to cut more just cut more. take your time though and it will come out great

dude we live like 30 minutes away and haven't rode together yet!!! U in Louisiana Jeepers? I just signed up yesterday. Going to meeting on the 10th how about u? I'll probably request ur assistance when I decide to cut if that's cool with u. I'd also like to build some custom tube fenders too.

Thanks for the ideas everyone!!! I'll post pics on my build thread when I figure it out
