Nice. I was thinking about just purchasing a tow hook kit and welding to that in case of a future winch, but this would be stronger.

here is my version...i still have a ton of work to do grinding/filling in so dont hate on it just yet..but i followed the tube design then covered it up....

thanks! i have light tabs made and ready to go on
if i was to mount a hi lift it would be on the top side i think

here are the remains...2 in 1/4 steel pipe and 1/4 plate i cut out of the other plate... its a little thicker that i would have chosen but it was all free so i cant complain

And by 2.25 steel pipe, you mean the stuff at can get at home depot??

i meant 2 inch pipe 1/4 inch thick. i don't think you can get it at home depot i dont really know though

How did you guys cut the "U" in the pipe so it could be welded up flush on another pipe?

ya steel piping...not sure what it was for since i just found it rusting away...

i used a chop saw that you can rotate and has the degrees written on it...cant remember the technical name for it sorry. i cut both pipes at 22.5 degrees so you get a 45 degree angle.

Does anyone think just welding to the toe hook things like he did will be strong enough for a small winch?
