Looks like 12-16ga steel right? I like that they are bent not welded personally. I dont see an issue with them really unless you manage to bend them.

1/4" plate. Not sure what gauge that is.

Yeah I like the bent part better as well. Takes literally about 10 seconds in the break at work to bend them like that.

Break is capable of bending up to 3/4" plate so if for some reason 1/4" isn't strong enough I can up it again.

I just need a way to beat the piss out of these to text them. What stresses these? Flexing?

Sweet. Those look great, Are the threaded rod just your standard stuff like they use in construction for hanging pipes? That is really the only place I see any weakness in the design, the rest is badass.

Thank you!

It's grade b7 threaded rod. I can't find a 1/2"-13 heim joint for the life of me (can only find 1/2"-20). If i can find one of those, i can use grade 8 threaded rod (rated for 150,000 PSI). The stuff i'm using is 1/2"-20 threaded rod rated at 125,000 PSI.

I need to find a way to test these things. How would i stress a sway bar link? Flex the jeep with them connected?

I was thinking about using 1/2" DOM tubing, and just threading the ends. We'll see though.

Go wheeling with them connected and do so hard quick flexing like wen one tire suddenly falls off a rock :) just think your trying to separate or bust a shock lol

Dude I think they'll be fine its not like the threaded rod is 20" long or anything. I was just curios if there was rating on that stuff. The whole idea is to disconect whenleaving the road. so the worst action it would really see is Illinois toll road pot holes.

Lol I tend to forget to take mine off at my hunting club since I have to run the blacktop to catch the dogs.

Well got a few pairs of brackets made up. Got the bolts ready. Just waiting for the heim joints to ship in, and then i need to find people who are interested in buying them. Haha.

Here's a picture of my current supply. I'm making more brackets daily.

Those don't look too bad man... I have a set of the JKS ones but they are getting pretty beat up. How much are you going to try and sell them for?

I would list them in the "For sale" section in the apropriate area.

Slim357 04-15-2013 03:55 PM

Or just become a vendor :)

blakexcore 04-15-2013 04:07 PM

I'm down for some if the price is right

HudsonN 04-15-2013 04:17 PM

Looking to get $90 shipped. (Sounds expensive, i know, but go to page 2 and look at the parts list. It's only like $15 profit)

It's all 1/2". Those 1/2" collars are lock collars so you can lock them onto the bolt to keep the link vertical and stop it from sliding down and clicking around. The top has two collars in it with the heim in the center. No room for them to slide back and forth either up there. It's tight.

Heims are rated for 9,100 pounds. Brackets (that bolt to the swaybar) are 1/4" plate that are bent in a break and not welded. (They look better in my opinion.)

They come with everything you see, except i forgot to put the locknuts on when i took the pictures. There will be two locknuts on the threaded rod to lock the heim in place so it can't spin around.

Do i need to become a vendor to sell stuff? I'd like to avoid another cost if i can, but if i can't avoid that cost i understand.

No you don't need to be a vendor to sell in the other sections (part outs, suspension etc)

Thank you guys for all the support! My for sale thread is up!
