3m makes some stuff called structural adhesive, it's what they use with spot welds to glue body panels together on most cars. Bend up, or buy some Z bar and stick it to the roof, set some nutserts in your new Z bar and you've got threaded mount for your new cb!

Just a complicated supplement for wood and a couple screws!!!

I had considered the a bar, but the amount of surface area I could get with the wood,and inserts seemed better at the time,the wood is 14x22 or something like that. With my limited knowledge of HD adhesives,I figured bigger,more area, the better. The adhesive I used was a loctite product I believe.

All in all quite happy with it,and built a center console to hold drinks,and the mics.

 

It looks like you ordered it from a magazine! Like I said, I just took your simple, faster, and probably stronger idea...and made it way to complicated! It's not like its going to the moon or anything.......... An xj on the moon? Hmmmmm.
