Hey guys its been awhile since ive been on here...... ive just had a busy *** summer! Anyways whenever i wasnt busy wheeling, camping, working, or just messing around i was working on my new bumper(which really wasnt a lot of time, summer flew by). I picked up the main tube of steel (3x6, 3/16ths thickness) at metal distributors here in fort collins, colorado...and i ordered a pre-runner already bent steel tubing kit from JCR off-road.

I finally got the bumper mounted up last week after finishing up the brackets which are also made out of 3/16ths steel and mount directly where the stock brackets from a stock bumper would.

A few days after that I went to wal-mart got a can of rustoleum bedliner for around 7 bucks and painted the thing. I cant say I exactly love the bumper yet without d-rings and a winch (which im working on, just dont have the $) but its a lot better then the stock one, so im happy. Tell me what you guys think , this was my first bumper ive built (with some assistance on the welding)

thanks...has anyone ever had problems with heavy bumpers? like wearing out steering or axle components faster?

I have heard of people adding a 1" puck to compensate for bumpers and winches
I wouldn't trust the stock mounts unless they were the tow hook mounts for recovery
But I really like it

Check out the jcr mounts for some "inspiration" on the drivers side they incorporate the steering box bolts and the sleeved hole that is part of the optional tow hook mounts
