Default Custom Bumpers for Stock XJ

This is going to be my first fab project, but my uncle owns a (tractor puller) fab shop, so I can use their tools. I'm going to be making both the front and rear bumpers. I should be starting with the cardboard mock ups tonight or tomorrow. Pictures will come.

One quick question, what are people mounting their rear bumpers to? I will be putting a receiver in mine.

So the 8 bolts that held the stock bumper on are strong enough for a bumper/receiver? I plan to use it for recovery and tight towing.

NO! when you take off your stock bumper you will see a hole into the unibody rails behind those 8 bolts... most people open up that hole a bit and run some 3/16"-1/4" 2x4 about a foot into the rail...

Like this bumper... https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/re...m-crazy-91661/
