Alright so I won't beat a dead horse, y'all already know what I'm doing: plastic weld, JB-Weld, glazing putty.

There's so small fitment issues, but you get the idea.

Default Update

Sorry it's been a minute, life catches up quick! 🤣 No super interesting title this time, moreso just small tidying up. I'm almost done, all things considered.

Wrapped the edges not covered by sound deadening to help prevent some heat coming from the trans tunnel. Not necessarily needed, but figured why not.

Also did the inside of the plastic. This was purely because there were corners and edges of the plastic that were catching on the ammo can. This makes it easier to take apart and put back together.

The insert is nearly done. Pretty much happy with the body work on it so I threw a couple coats of paint on it to see where I'm at with it. Theres a couple of small spots I've got to address before putting nice paint on it.

Everything together. I've still got to finish they grey plastic as my interior is tan. Most of the bodywork on that is done and ready for the next step. Spoiler alert, I am vinyl wrapping it!

Cupholder insert is nearly finished. I've still got some bondo to do on it but its practically done.

Everything said and done, I am extremely happy with how it's coming along. I'm not sure if I'll get around to wrapping it anytime soon as I have more important things to do on the XJ first.

If I were to do it again, I would have used the 5.56 ammo can I originally planned to use since custom fabricating a whole safe and modifying the plastic has been such a large bite to chew, all for some more interior space! Oh well I'm already here 🤣
