HD Offroad Engineering makes a Shackle relocation Bracket. I would reccomend it highly especially over the OP's dangerous set-up.

I dont think the idea is "unsafe" it may not be what some of you would do but it will work fine as long as he builds it well.
Where are some more recents photos? have you built anymore on this?

homemade relocation boxes used with 2in lift shackles and lost .5in from the 2in shackle when installed boxes. bolted in with 4 1/2in by .75 grade 8s. and 1 9/16 grade
fist pic shows original angle when drooped. sat straight up and down under weight
last does not have full weight on it. they sit at 45 degrees with weight
gained like 3in of down travel. would have more but drive shaft is stoping me

I would have to agree with the majority, it seems a bit unsafe for public roads. But if you could make a limit strap or maybe a lock of some kind to keep the upper shackle in place while driveing on the road and also some kind of downward limit to keep the shackles from folding up then I would think that would be a better design.
Peronaly I like the relocation idea, that's in the plans for my build, from the company that has been metioned in this thread and I'll combine that with a 1" shackle from ironman 4x4 gab.
Just my two cents.

POs's design is way better then OP design, Think stuff like that should be welded to rig.. but BOlts are ok.. if you use enough and have tight tolerance holes.
Down travel is only as good as how much of it is useable. You have to think about driveshaft slip length, as wel as Ant-squat. There is nothing like seeing a flexy rig spit a u-jpoint cause of bind issues
