Default Cold air intake

Hey guys, Im wantin to put a cold air intake on my xj but i dont feel like droppin 100s of dollars. if theres a way to make one or if theres a generic one fr sale thatd be great

just remember if you make your own you need to make sure that only outside air is getting in and taht there is no underhood air coming into the intake. also make sure the pipe is going to keep the air cold. Thermal wrap or something never hurts.

Cold air is densor.. ther for more oxygen in the air.. so more power... the way the jeep is set up... its sucking air from outside the engine compartment threw the air box . so ^ as pictured above.. does not add up to cold air intake...

Yea, I had a cold air intake on mine that I never got around to wrapping in heat tape. The other day when I grabbed it after driving for about 15 minutes, I burned my hand. I ripped it off today to put the stock airbox on. I only had the "cold" air intake because it sounded cool when I floored it.

i know mines not exactly cold air. but i find the cone filter and bigger intake tube gave another 2 miles per gallon.. it may just be becuz its a four popper. but i just know it helped

i made this out of a cone filter and 3 inch exhaust tubing..it works pretty good and i get a boost in mpg and a little power.i cut the stock air box lid to fit over the pipe

You can buy the filter and tube on e-bay for like 30 bucks.

Never mind I guess they don't sell the tube anymore. They do include a breather filter though. Would make a good start.

here is a few of my CIA... its a chunk of 3'' deisel exhaust.. n a pice of 16 ga sheet metal.. n a spectrum cone filter.. i cut the line going into the valve cover and used a lil breather on that..Name:  hhh.jpg
