Definitely different. Do you have other pics? What made you choose to make it the way it looks?

Not nearly as finished looking as others in this thread but it's definitely chopped. Nothing special. Just went crazy with the sawzall.

I would like to see more pics of yours too. I like the sun roof you have. Were you planning on making a cover for it?

It has a cover for the "sun roof" hole. I have no intentions of making a cover of any sort for the back.

Lowrange your xj looks sweet. I really like your bumper, where did you get that? Did you do anything similar in the rear?

Thanks! I built the bumper from scratch. The rear bumper is just a piece of 2x4 square tubing. Nothing fancy. I'm about to redo it. I got hung up on it last weekend. When I get hung up on something I usually cut it off.

You can see it in this picture.

Makes me want to get the sawzall out and start cutting and go topless! Then there are some days I want to just cut it up and haul it away!

It would definitely be cool but, it will start another major build episode. Cut the top, buy a tubing bender, buy tubing. Learn how to screw up tubing in bender. Buy more tubing and so on and so on.

In my case, about a million later and I would have a chop top XJ that looks like $10..

Hey Lowrange, the roll cage that you built has it been welded to the "b" and "c" pillars as well as the interior roof? I would really like to cut mine up but need as much info as possible (research) so I can achieve what others have done as well. Any pics and more info is very helpful.

It's not physically attached to it yet but it will be in the near future.

The cage is actually a kit cage that I purchased from T&J Performance. Then I added harness bars and a big X behind the seats. I want to eventually make an external halo to brace through the roof down to the existing cage and add more triangles.

The main thing is to plate your frame rails and attach the cage to those. (Which is also on my long list of things to do. Bought the steel for it yesterday.)
