A tough bumper.. Prolly not. But as far as looks department I'd throw him a wave if I saw him on the road cause it shows effort and he's trying.

This ^ Heck I'm experienced with fabrication and have a huge shop with all the tools I need a couple hundred feet from me right now, and my bumper looks like this.

may add a brush guard later who knows, but it's simple and 1/4" or pure beef. I already hit a tree going 35 hard and it did nothing to the bumper.

title of the thread says it all, specially when your mounting hardware cost more than the "bumper", but i do like the "quick change" idea

I picked up a Yj/Tj bumper for $40, shorten my brackets so it does not look funny(practicing welding
) . S*** is just expensive! Good idea, just try to find something thicker so it doesn't get smashed up quick... Theres gotta be something out there!

thanks guys, im sure ill come across something better soon. and if not ill prolly just go buy a thicker piece from somewhere. i was also thinking of maybe replacing the u bolts with exhaust clamp Us, just so i dont need to use that extra spacing s###. ya think they would be as tough?

Here's something stronger if you could find it for free otherwise it's rather expensive. 2x3 box steel could work.
I just placed it in front of my xj just to get a visual of how it could look. "pretend there is no winch bumper"

fishing pole holder....nice haha.. I kinda like it, its eaasy, cheap, simple, plus you dont even need tow hooks just put the hook on the bar. thinker tubing and make some sort of flap you can use to open the end and throw stuff in there (spare axles, fishing poles, driveshaft.)
