Whatever works, but id cut a bit more out of that floorpan first. The entire front half, actually.

I remember when we used to patch floors in our CJ's way back when.
Get some sheet metal, bang into shape, and just pop rivet it in.
Spray some undercoating or something and call it a day. LOL.

Don't use anything aluminum or aluminized; it will cause the steel to rust even worse. I personally use 14ga plain steel but it's a bit of a PITA to cut; something thinner would work fine. Roof flashing is too thin IMO.

I am going to cut out all the bad areas,I'm just finally getting all the carpet out to see what I need to do to fix it.
