I purchased a CB radio and was wondering how i should mount an antenna. So i was wondering if anyone had any pictures of theirs.

i made a mount out of some scrap steal i had, mount comes out between the hood and the fender, I didnt want to pay 30 or 40 bucks for the mount, hence i made it, looks good too. Before I made that tho, i had it mounted on the cowl behind the hood, there was actually a hole the perfect size for it, if you take the plastic panel off its on the driverside front corner, had it there for a year, worked good, would recomend a washer for more support tho, and as said above, mounting location depends on antenna length, you wouldnt want a 12ft antenna mounted on your hood

Somethings to think about if a DD. if you mount 102 " whip on pass. side it hits low branches on side of the road. If you use a ball mount on the pass. side the wind from driving and any tree branches that hit it push the antenna in a direction to loosen the the bolt in the ball and the nut that holds the ball assembly. If you mount on the drivers moves away from roadside trees and pushes antenna in direction that tightens bolt and nut.

I've got a 102" whip (which mines metal i dont think they do 102's in 'glass) and i got a bracket thats like 6" long with a hole in the end to bolt it somewhere and the other end the cable screws on one side and the antenna on the other. Was 8 dollars or something at the cb shop, and i bolted it to a bumper bolt on the drivers side rear bumper. I'll put some pics up, but im gonna have to go out and take them first.
I just cut an extra exhaust hanger and a strip of scrap steel...weldin them together, presto! free mount.
then took some self tap screws to hold it better. I also bought a 90 deg bend adapter for the wire cause i didn't like it hangin out so much. It works great and since i faced it backwards (unlike the zj in the above post) it doesn't catch branches and stuff on the trail.
