Default Bumper made from the scrap pile........

I had a little free time yesterday morning, so I decided to make a bumper from my scrap pile for my new MJ. I havent made a bumper from tube in a really long time. Much less time consuming than flat plate bumpers, and not near as many black boogies!!

2.5 hrs later, I have this.......

I still have to add sides to the main bumper piece....d-ring tabs to come. The grill hoop follows the conture of the bumper. It has 4 bends, 2 you cant really see.

Made from 2x6x3/16'' and 1 3/4'' HREW. Mounts are made with 1/4'' plate.

Whatcha think so far?

Im on the fence on sqeezing the winch behind the bumper, or welding in a rec. hitch tube so that I can run a winch cradle front or rear.

I wish we had a scrap place locally that didn't want an arm and a leg for everything.

Looks great.

Put a winch behind it.

Bumper will look great after the side pieces, d-rings and winch.

I've never really been a fan of tubing bent like that on a bumper but I like the two bends in the center(The ones you can barely make out). Looks pretty good.

Thanks a bunch....I think the winch will find its way behind the bumper.

My scrap pile does have some goodies for sure! But I too screw stuff up and it ends up there. Sometimes I get to use it, sometimes I dont.

Only other pic I have of the MJ right now is on my facebook page.......http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hudfab/226645280758128.
