I have nothing to do this weekend so I figured it was time for another project. I got the idea at work and I wanted to get some opinions on it first.

The idea is too avoid fender flares and make bulge fenders like they have at rusty's so I can pass inspection.

My idea is to just take the stock fender make relief cuts around the edge of the whole fender. Bend the tabs out and maybe use a fiberglass kit to fill it all in. Going out to take measurements now just wanted input.

Obviously a well thought out and thorough drawing.

hmm.... are you just looking for a cheap low cost option?

personally i would make a quick set of tube fenders! even if its just EMT and 16 ga flat steel.. That way you pass inspection.

plus the whole fender is bulged on the rusty;s flares

Yes its pretty much my low cost option of passing inspection. I was thinking of doing the tube fenders and i just came up with this idea at work. I never got to see the bulge fender in person it was just my inspiration.

Just trying to see if something different works. I'm hitting the JY saturday and picking up one to tinker on see how it comes out. And i'm making a cowl hood also

Sick man!!! But yeah i think some quick pins, EMT tubing and 16 gauge steel would make an awesome removable tube flare. But take pictures of your tinker fender! and your cowl hood!!!

what do you have inmind for your cowl hood project?

Hey maybe after saturday this may turn into a tube fender build page lol My inspection is 5 months past no need to rush.

Wish I was at work so I could make some cad drawings up.

We did the cowl hood on my friends jeep I can get pictures. Its real basic. We cut from the windshield towards the front. Made a cardboard template of how high you want it. Put the template on a scrap hood from the Jy. Cut.. weld.. and some good amount of time with body filler. I will try to make something up in paint

Rustys wanted 700 bucks for their buldge fenders shipped. Search around on craigslist, i found a pair 300 miles away for 150 bucks, drove down and picked them up and i love them!

hope your project goes good! cant wait to see it
