I think Thor uses 10 ga for the side panels.

Are you using clear lenses for the brake and tail lights?

The clear it for break and tail. Tried using as turn as well but no go. When i do the panels ill use 10gage. But the light boxes i think are durable enough using 1/8".
I've had alot fun fabing them and got it down. Ill start making another set for my brothers gf xj.

That might be the law but few cops would pull you over for it. How ever i think they make a red tape that is transparent or maybe a paint.
If i get pulled over for it then ill look into that route.
They also have a red lense led lights like the clear ones. Same price.

Also if they pull you over for it... Just point out all the rice burners that have the clear lights and the new cars that come stock with clear lights.

sry bud BUT if/when you get pulled over and your only response to the officer is "but but but those cars and and these cars over here have it"..... your sadly only going to sound like a child... i wouldn't worry about it one bit unless such a thing happens... and the likely hood of it is you'd get a fix-it ticket... then do as you described and swap out for the red...

Still a very nice job... the gap at your hatch is a little much but still overall excellent

You aloud to have a clear lens. The light has to shine a color. His clear lights light red. He's fine. I have the same lights.

If the were clear lens with a white light then he would get a ticket

You have to remember Federal regulations only exist to regulate the manufacturing of new automobiles and aftermarket products and not to license and regulate privately owned vehicles.

Are clear tail lamp lenses permitted?

Read the 1st thing you said. A led tail lilght lites red. An normal tail light lites clear/white. That's why they have a colored lens on them. It has nothing to do with what color the lens is, all it has to do is shine red an amber for a blinked
