Default Body Armor

I figured id post this project.
I looked up Thor body armor and for the rear quarter panels it cost $250 w/o lights so i started fabing my own. Ill post pics soon but so far Im just doing the rear tail light flush mount conversion. Later ill add the quarter panel armor.
I didn't take pics from the beginning but Im about half way none and most of us have a brain to figure out that what I've done so far is just weld a box together and cut holes.
Metal from home depot cost $7 per sheet. You'll need 6 6"x 18" and the light cost $50 from the local auto parts store.
Again ill post pics in the morning.

How thin is the sheet metal? If you are trying to somewhat copy the Thor guards the thickness you are using doesn't even come close. Maybe its the pics.....

Let me know how you wire the lights up, I have the same lights on my 87 xj and can't get them to all work at the same time. Even tryed wiring in a trail light harness and still couldn't get them all at the same time

I believe it 1/8 thick. Not sure what Thor was using but for the taillight box 1/8 works good and when i cover the panels ill use thicker.
I figure ill start the wiring in a few days and keep you posted. Work has got me booked, or i would do it sooner.

Alright one side is mounted and wired. Not to proud of the fit but then again Im adding panels to cover the sides. As for the back by the hatch i can add a space flare. Ill add pics of it in the daylight in the morning.
