Agreed! Neither is...cutting your hinges, adding lights to your stock roof rack, trimming fenders, building bastard packs, adding a walmart $.99 cupholder, painting your floor, asking what kind of welder to buy, asking how to build something, installing a cb antenna......... I could go on but........

can't lie. I think its funny that we have a standard for what "fabrication" is on cherokeeforum of all places. if it doesn't belong on this forum where does it belong?
change the name to non-hardcore fabrication and say anything goes. people here want to see all sorts of stuff not just advanced welding. this part of the forum doesn't have enough traffic anyway

does it?
"All modified tech questions. If it modifies your XJ beyond stock parts ask it here."
chat is for chatting. tech is for tech questions. fabrication should be for fabrication questions and little nick nacks put together. I'd rather have 10 pages of nifty ideas to leaf through than a stagnant section of the forum reserved for advanced welding and flaming\
just sayin

Might be onto something about "Advanced Fabrication" And " Fabrication".. ANything that is done to stock parts.. or is a fab question can junk the section up.. Where all the good stuff, and maybe move some of the more fab intensive build into it as well....
That way I dont have to wade through hundreds of low buck/high buck bolt on builds

Honesly too many people have the wroung idea of what I'm asking, regardless if I chose to build a stinger or prerunner; the mounting would be the same. Its pointless to start building something that you don't have a solid direction on. I wanted to see if anyone had any legit good ideas of fabricating something that is stroung and effective. However almost everyone who has posted on here seems to have their panties in a bunch, because asking for some simple "advice of fabricating" is frowned appon in the "fabrication" section of this form.
