Default $0.60 Sway Bar Disconnects

I just went to home depot and got some 10mm 1.5 wing nuts and did this....

I figure the links are going to stay like that if there tight enough, when i tried to move then about of my way I had to use two hands to really nudge them over there.

And I went to the end of my driveway and did a flex test. Keep in mind this is only the street curb But I will soon find something bigger to flex on!

EDIT!! I was convinced to put a cotter pin on these..

So simple, we sometimes forgot to look at the obvious!

I'm with you, wingnuts pretty much always come lose after a while.

I would drill and pin these just above the wing nut!

I just thought of that. Im going to drive it for a few days and see what happens. Then Ill drill a hole and pin it if it comes loose.

I would throw a lock washer under the wing nut just for safety sake.

The pin is a very good idea. You should just go ahead and do it, because it really is a matter of when they will come loose more than if. Safety is worth another $0.10 and a drill bit

I would think with the articulation of the suspention, the sudden compression and release during the flex of just normal driving would allow them to come loose. A pin is exactly what I was thinking.

A lock washer won't work with the rubber bushing underneath it.

there is a metal cap ontop of the bushing. i have been runing with that setup with the lockwasher for almost a year now.. no issues at all. exept i used a clevis pin at the bottom and some "spacer" washers to make the link completley removable... still good for over a year

simple. i like it. The only thing about the design is that during flex that the sway bar links would flex into the body, suspension of something. I even had that problem with the old style rough country quick discos.
