Anyone have any experience with the Axial SCX10 Deadbolt? Just put it on the Christmas list, looks really good for recreational use.

I believe it's a cross between the SCX10 & Wraith. Anything Axial makes is gonna be good & take a beating. I've got 3 SCX10 & an AX10. Great for bashin' & after market support is great. I'd recommend buying from RPP Hobby, they have discount codes. Always great to save a couple bucks.

The deadbolt is just like the other SCX10 models except for the following items:

32 pitch pinion and spur gears
AE5 speed controller
Body
Slightly shorter wheelbase. I wanna say its around 300mm?

What's nice about the Deadbolt coming with the AE5 speed controller is that it is waterproof. All you have to do to make the whole rig waterproof at that point is put the receiver in a balloon and tie it closed and the whole rig can then be submerged if you so desire. It's a very good first rig and well built/capable right out of the box

Best bang for your buck is the axial scx10 deadbolt. $300 brand new and a very capable scaler/crawler right out of the box.

If you have an specific questions just shoot me a PM. I've got both the scx10 and a custom built wraith and will gladly answer anything about them. Also check out Rccralwer.com. There is a ton of information on the forums there.

Agreed... hard to beat anything axial puts out really. They're to the scale crawling world what Team Associated was to the scale racing scene for the longest time (RC10, RC10T, RC10GT, etc, etc).

I got a RTR SCX10 Deadbolt for Christmas and can't put it down! It's so addicting. Switched the esc and battery locations to center the weight and have some leds coming.

Here are picures I took this morning while on the beach before work. Apologize if there are any issues, uploaded from my phone. Gave it shower right after to get the salt and sand out.
