Winch Set Up
Well I got a Warn MX8000 today for dirt cheap. Only problem is its just the winch and controller. I have no idea how to wire this thing and really need it on my tow rig ( I haul wrecked vehicles for a living). Please help I need a list of things that I need to get for it and how to go about setting it up? I have dual batteries on my Dodge and an idle up feature so I assume that it will work pretty good on the truck.

You're missing the control box with the solonoids which is where the controller plugs in. Ask you buddy if he still has it. It'll be about 3" tall and 6" square black plastic with a metal back and a big red W on the top.

Looks to me like you will need the control box and dual relays that the hand held switch controller connects to.
These look like Ford starter relays, but i think they are rated for more amperage. napa may have them in stock if you can find out which ones you need.
Here is a link to my Google search for a diagram for you.

A look at Warn's website may turn up some more info about what is actually supposed to be used for that winch in particular.

you should post more pics of what you have so everyone can get a ideal of what you need, if we can't see it we can't help.
