NEW CAR, NEW (BAD) LUCK
Old German *****, nothing special... just an regular European ****box that's on the road.
1996 Mercedes Benz W210 with the slow 2.0 4-cylinder 136.HP (100ish with aircon on).
Also Automatic.... so yes... it's slower than the 1.6 Volvo before....

That looks a lot like my old Mercedes, a 2005 E320. It was a company car. I e-mailed my boss to say that I was having some engine problems but I managed to "fix it". It too replaced a Volvo, a V70.

I'm so confused/enthralled by your stickers. Are you an American living in Germany, or just a German who, uh, "likes" America?

Our two dailies - the XJ is the lady's daily and the Saabaru (2006 Saab 9-2X Aero 5MT) is mine. My XJ is currently covered in leaves in my parent's backyard...

I hate you a bit, a Saabaru was on the short list of "wagons" when I went searching, ended up with my 05 XC70

Little bit more different.
My dad is American, My mom German, I'm Dutch, lived for almost 17 years in TX Holland.
Then after my dad had a new job overseas , living since then in Europe (Holland/Netherlands) and almost 6 years ago for now my final destination in Germany.
The idea was helping my grandmother after my grandfather passed away that I'm helping her out when she needs to visit the doctor, groceries or anything else.
She could then do my laundry.......

then after one year living in Germany she moved to Holland/Netherlands near my moms house.
Since then living all by myself in Germany. and no don't like it.
And those Germans? don't like them either.

Also finding an Jeep...XJ or other older models are quit hard to find.
Rust, Abused, Almost no maintenance. and then asking high prices for them.
So that's why I'm driving that old benz. not for fun....more because I need to.

LOL! They're definitely the coolest of that generation Impreza. Supposedly, there are only like 250 something 06 Aero 5MTs made, so mine is sort of a unicorn. The 2.5 liter is a nice, grunty improvement over the 2.0s in the 05s. I really dig the car - drove it from Northern California back to Asheville, NC in like 5 days - it DOMINATED the Colorado mountain passes.

I will say, it's a lot smaller than I really thought it would be. I've owned five Legacy/Outback wagons before this and got used to being able to haul as much as a big SUV. I bet the XC70 has about the same capacity as an Outback so maybe you made the right choice, depending on what you use the car for haha. I've always liked Volvo wagons - driven a few 80s 240s but nothing newer. Those XC70s are tempting though - turbo 5cyl power!

Daily Driver…Long Story.
My current daily driver is a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with the Hemi. It was originally my wife’s, and I drove a 2013 Challenger R/T Classic (5.7/ 6spd). She had been wanting a Wrangler for years, so when I found this 2015 Rubicon, I jumped on it and traded in my R/T. (Been married 15 years so making her happy is a worthy investment lol)

My ‘16 GC Overland, also my tow rig and DD.

Her ‘15 Rubicon JKU 6spd, her DD

My ‘13 R/T. Traded for the Rubicon.

My ‘11 JKU Sport. Lot of $ and time invested on this one. Traded for the ‘13 R/T. (Was a mistake to get rid of)

You're not wrong, the Impreza chassis is smaller than it "feels" when talking cargo. However, I'd kill to have a manual transmission again! We have a Nissan Armada to haul the family/gear around, the XC70 is almost redundant at this point. With the car seats in it for the kids it doesn't have the room to haul larger items either. I'd really like to turn it into a lifted overland vehicle, cause they look amazing when done up like that...but that requires money/time taken away from the XJ and I'm not about to do that any time soon!

XC70 done up right :-)

Winter-tyres for the upcoming winter.
Helped me the last winter really great with snowplowing/driving.
RWD in snow is just no fun with this old mercedes. 136HP doesn't do much

New stickers, not finished yet. lot more coming

and yes. still rocking with the factory radio. and believe it or not...it has bluetooth for my music on the phone

still, love/hate this car. more hate because lacking power, loving because....don't know.....

Got 300000 miles on my 2013 Cherokee off road driving, still in love with the engine and the dieasel. I mean it was intensely good for its edition.
