The JK is daily driver.
The 3B (red one) is fun in summer and snow plow in winter.
The Wagon is utility hauler.

2008 Commander base model upgraded to 4.7L Corsair engine, leather interior and no third row seats. A great Akita hauler. Really comfortable for long trips.

^ haha, awesome
A few years ago, I converted a VW Golf to 100% battery powered electric. It runs off twelve 12v golf cart batteries, has a top speed of 85mph and costs a few dollars of electricity a month as my daily driver. Plus it was a sweet project!!
Anyone get the license plate DE-ICED reference? Most people don't but I hope people on a vehicle related forum will!
More details here: http://evanbeloni.com/ev/
Under the hood (this picture makes it look easy, it was kinda easy... if you're an engineer type who can figure this stuff out):
More batteries in the back:
Using the XJ's 12v system to test the electric motor [I just wanted to include a pic with both ]:
(Apparently the server I host the pics on drops out a lot, so if you don't see any pics, that's why. So I dunno, check back in 10 minutes I guess.)

I get somewhere around 24-26 mile range, mainly because the motor is a bit messed up from the first battery pack I had. I used Advanced house brand batteries and they leaked acid all over the motor, but otherwise I'd be getting more like 40 miles. I returned them and got Trojans, way better. I built it in a small town so 25 miles can get me the whole way across town and back twice, so it is totally practical for daily use. It also charges in ~2-3 hours on 240VAC and ~5 hours on 120, so charging at work or a friends house is easy.
