Default Transfer case Np231 broken fork 2 times

I have an np 231 transfer case and changed the fork last month. Now, after driving around 2000 mile, the fork is broken again!

The pinion making noise and need to be replaced. Does pinion affect the transfer case?

Thanks for reading my post..

I'm gong to go out on a limb here here and guess that you mean the wheel is a 17".

Does it break when shifting or ????

Possible causes:
Improperly adjusted linkage.
Damaged prior to installation.
Improper t-case assembly.

I didn't think the NP231 came on a Yukon, I thought it was a 205 or 207...what led up to the failure of the transfer case? Anytime you use wheel/tire combinations outside of the manufacturer recommended specifications, you run the risk of causing damage; however, I don't think the wheels caused the pinion to start to make noise. The vehicle is 16 years old.
