Default SAVY BUild

WARNING LOTS OF PICS

Samurai / Chevy = SAVY

This is a story of my building a 1 ton suzuki tin top. This project was gained via some trading.

First I traded a use dRK 3 link upgrade kit for a soft top running sami

Then a friend wanted/needed the windshield/targa bar and roll bar, and offered to trade that to me for a tin top. Deal done.

By the end of the first day I removed the seats, and dog house and built a roller out of it

SInce I am stretching the wheel base 12" front, and 12" rear some frame stretch had to happen

Now came the time to hang the whole drivetrain in place so I can mock some stuff up

Rough placement of the front axle... 6" in front of harmonic balancer

Well.. my front coilovers or air shock order is on hold till I get the front and rear suspension mocked up. Really need to have all the angles and numbers available to calculate spring rates for coilovers. Some vendors over on PBB are withing 125 of the cost of some decent air shocks since FOA and Profender dont make 2" air shocks anymore. That leaves Fox.. and at 240 a piece plus shipping and the ability to get FOA 2" coilovers with springs for the set at 590... hard to justify not going the better more stabil route.

Nice! I was trying to convince my father in law to do the same.
