Does anyone have any experience with the Jeep Patriot? My wife totalled her Cobalt yesterday, and now she wants something with more room and better visibility. I belive they have the 2.4L DOHC (I had one in a wrangler and liked it). I'd like to find one with a standard trans, but the CVT seems to be much easier to find. That's my main concern about this vehicle. A quiet, smooth riding vehicle that gets mid 20's MPG AND has the Jeep badge up front, what's not to love?
the True North concept Patriot wouldn't be too shabby to have...

i have a Patriot, and i love it. It's a great vehicle for what it's designed for. No, it obviously can't compete with XJ's, nor is it designed to. But if you want a DD that will get great MPG (i get 28 on the highway), reliable traction for bad weather, lots of storage, and a low price point, they're great. I had the 2.4 L CVT, and it's fine. As long as you don't plan on going rock crawling or mudding with it (Keep the XJ for that), you'll enjoy it. Just my $.02.

My mom has one. An '09 with the 2.4L and the CVT auto. It's a good little vehicle, and I love it because it's Jeep and sits next to my XJ lol. But it's done good so far with about 75k miles. CVT holds up well, and I managed 29 mpg once going to Harrisonburg going 65mph and not driving stupid. Good vehicle, heated seats are nice, sun roof is nice. Just don't expect to get any acceleration awards with it lol.
