So, it was supposed to be a simple engine swap. I allocated a week to do it. Nothing special, pull the old one, pull the younger one, put in the younger one.

Nicked a brake line. Great time to replace the entire line from proportioning valve out to the caliper. While at it, do the same to driver's side. Well, now's a good as time as any to upgrade XJ booster and master to a ZJ set up.

Install new AC parts (an all new system)
New radiator.
Make new battery cables
The alternator needs to be replaced.
Trans now having an issue.

Rent a car for a few days to get to work.

One thing led to another and instead of rushing to get the XJ back together, I went out and bought a Mercedes Benz Smart For2........and in about 3 days time, I LOVE IT!

The Jeep is now in the garage being built properly, and not being slapped back together, meanwhile, I'm commuting 60 miles each way while getting 41.09 MPG
Speedo goes up to 100mph (I can only vouch for 95)

while my friend was shopping for a benz I took some time to get into one that was in the showroom and as a 6'3 guy i must say i was surprised by the space i had in the driver seat.

 

I have a customer who put a 300hp Ecotec in one of those. Said if he gets on the gas too fast it lifts the front wheels off the ground! I think he sent me a video. I will try to find it and post it.
