Default Old 4x4 tires

I have an old ford 4x4 that needs tires. I want some that look like offroad tires but won't throw rocks. This truck will never be offroad so performance doesn't matter. Just want something that won't look like 2wd highway tires. Any suggestions?

Bfgoodrich AT. Agressive looking, very capable, silent and durable on-road and off-road.

Is it just the size of the tire you're looking for or are knobbies a must? I can understand wanting them just for looks but you're basically sacrificing increased road noise and decreased road grip in favor of a marginal cosmetic gain.

Just trying to preserve the new paint while maintaining a 4x4 appearance. I love bf at's but they grabs loads of small rocks.

Anyone know what tires a 78 ford f150 4x4 would have left the factory with?

Don't get an all terrain unless you like having rocks thrown all over your paint. All terrains are horrible anyways, should be called street tires imo
I've never had any "mud terrain" tire throw gravel everywhere, except Treadwright Guard Dogs, just because the tread is so tight on them. Any radial mud terrain will be fine for a dd, none of them are really very aggressive. I like BFGs personally, for a dd.

If this is for a resto project and you are looking for 70s style offroad tires, you can custom order the original TSL from Interco. They will be horrible on the street though so if its going to be driven look elsewhere, but on a show type truck they will get the vintage look.

I love my Goodyear duratracs, they look mean(in my opinion) and their really quiet on road but capable off road. They are also pretty cheap for an off road tire
