i have a 93 mercury grand marquis thats been sitting around for a while that im ready to get rid of. i went out to start it today and it turns over just fine but doesnt start. there is plenty of gas in it and the bettery is brand new so i have no clue why it isnt starting please help i need to get rid of this thing but cant if it wont start

 

Have you checked fuel delivery, spark, starter working? How long has it been sitting? Is there crud in the fuel?

 

Yea check the fuel pump, the wires and do a load test on the battery to make sure the cells aren't bad

 

Look up on the fuel rail on the drivers side and you will see a schrader valve, you can push that valve down while someone turns the key on to see if fuel sprays outs. The fuel pump relay is under a plastic cover on the drivers inner fender and should be labled too, maybe switch the relays around. The fuel pump cutout switch is in the trunk mounted on the trunk hinge support, make sure the red button is pushed down.

Do you have fuel? Do you have fire? Does the check engine light come on with the key on and go out while cranking?
