MY FREE MJ
Well I kinda have a good jeeping story to tell you all.
One day 2 weeks ago a guy at work approached me and asked me " you still messing with Jeeps?" Of course I said " Yeah and why?" Well he proceedes to tell me that he has a Comanche that he wants gone. So a few days later I go and look at it.
well I brought it home today..
It is an 87 MJ 2wd Short bed. It has factory buckets, and sliding glass window. The motor runs good, but has an exhaust leak. It also has a weak clutch (think slave cylinder is bad) and the brakes are weak.
The best part about this is it was absolutley FREE :mrgreen: [-] -= Plans for it right now...is to get the get it inspected, throw a cheapo paint job on it, and convert it to 4wd :mrgreen:
Here is a pic of it after it was pressure washed and cleaned up a lil

right now it has a 2.5 5 spd in it. Sadly it is 2wd, but it does have a few cool options like bucket seat, sliding rear window, and rubber floor matts.
Plans are to convert it to 4wd, and take it from there

Sounds similar to my longbed project. I have a 4.0L and a AX 15 but am still gathering stuff for the 4WD conversion.

great deal.... I have had a few mjs with that set up they work great for just runniong around town... and free is free so you can do what ever you want with it and still have very little in it...

Trans and t-case, and shifter linkage
front axle and front driveshaft
Have rear driveshaft shortened.
Thats all that is reallly needed.
