I dont care how fast a car is now days I'll take a big inch mill with a solid lifter camshaft 4 series gears and a 4 speed any day from any of the big three way back when. Not taking anything away from the newer muscle cars but there is no feeling like the one you get when you bust off an 11.1 compression ration or more mill with a solid cam talking to you. The smell of real gasoline not this ethanated crap they call gasoline these days. Or the leg muscles it took to drive something with a heavy linkage style clutch.

It's all about torque gentlemen.. My 70 stage 1 GS 455 puts out over 500 foot pounds at 2500 RPM And moves 4250 pounds through the quarter-mile in the high 11- second range. Needless to say it surprises the snot out of 90% of the new stuff. Of course I'd like to have a brand spanking new muscle car parked next to it in the garage But the torque is what gives you that seat-of-the-pants kidney kick that just isn't there with a high revving small block. No the GS is not stock.. it has a Tremec five-speed overdrive manual and will cruise 80+ ALL day long w/top end at 150+, tubular suspension...

I'm not saying old is superior, just drawing a distinction.

I'm an old guy so i've accumulated some toys.

I talked to a guy named Scotty Gaudagno a long time ago (back in the early 90s) I was goin to get a few "goodies" from Torque technologies. I had an old Edelbrock B4b and was going to get a cam from them for my Revi. Go Fast With Class

I remember conversations online about Scotty quite the builder I guess. And I am running the B4B With 224/236 fast ramp cam, 11 to 1 compression Ross Pistons at 5500 feet elevation On pump gas. The five speed overdrive and upgraded suspension makes the car though.

Do you have the newer design B4b or the old one that wouldnt allow you to keep the stock dual inlet air cleaner. I heard Eddy retooled and moved the carb pad forward so you could run the stock air cleaner and the inlets would line up with the hood scoops.
My mom had a 69 GS buick it was a cool car I was too young she sold it before I learned to drive.

Grew up with a kid who had a GS 350 car it would still haul **** it had a built motor. My stereo supplier had an 85-86 regal with a 455 in it it was stupid fast ask the SCCA porshe guys on a 5000 foot back stright where we used to auto cross it was all buick till you had to turn LOL .

Did not mean to jack the OP thread I was just fortunate enough to have been around a ton of old school bad **** iron. High school music teacher had a 69 Road runner it was a 440 4 speed car it was a sweet car to cruise around in same guy had a T type turbo regal.
