That is actually a Bullnose Commando which was made from 1971-1973. It's technical name is the C104.
I am not a big fan of the bullnose version, I like the older "CJ type" nose Commando.

buddy of mine had a 71 commando, just the body. we took the frame from an 87 gmc high sierra ext cab and cut about 4ft out of the middle and rewelded it, rebuilt a 454 and turbo 400 trans, and did some serious fabrication to make 3 t cases into one with a crawl box for the front and rear (getting all the linkages to line up was a pain) it had a 6" body off frame lift and some tough country front and rear leaf springs with added blocks on the perches. and i believe they were dana 80's from a chevy 3500 dump truck, cant remember the ratios but this was the sickest lookin 4x4 i've ever seen. never got to mud it and now it sits somewhere in the jungle on the big island of hawaii but i love those older jeepster bodies
