jeep xj for a wrangler????
Well i have a 1997 jeep cherokee xj with a 3 inch lift and 31 inch km2s.....
I like/love the xj but my fiance LOVES wranglers and i have always like wranglers also so i am thinking of selling/ trading my 97 xj for a wrangler.
The question is what year should i aim/Look for?
I would like to find a wrangler that has a 4.0L inline 6 and a 5 speed manuel trans.

Some similarities, but not identical. We have a '98 XJ drivetrain in our YJ Wrangler. Perfect combo, plenty of grunt, decent on gas for what it is. YJ Wranglers (1987-1995) have leaf springs, square headlights, early versions were carburated. TJ Wranglers (1997-2006) have coil springs, vastly improved interiors, round headlights, all FI. We like ours, but it would be a tough choice going from an XJ to a Wrangler.
