Bugger. I tried!

I'll keep looking... I essentially want a solid four-wheel-drive pickup I can make into a work truck, that I don't have to deal with the California Air Police over (and can therefore make it run as well as I want to without catching any grief from CARB...)

i hate carbs when you wheel with them it can be hard on steep trails i like the injection better but you can get one of those fancy off road carbs that don't lose fuel when on a angle

I hadn't planned on it - I was going to make it into a work truck.

That's two that have gotten away from me - the last one was a 1974 J20 with the AMC 401 (big sigh, big creem...)

I know - I just wanted to make sure.

And no kiddin'. I lost it because someone else with cash got there first, and he took it. The worst part about it was that it was some migrant worker, and I just know that the truck is going to get Hell beaten out of it and it's going to end up rusting away in a field in 2-3 years...
